Psychopunch: The last goodbye

26/08/10  ||  Lord K Philipson

Another short’n‘uninspired review coming your way. You deserve it.

Yesterday I reviewed Germany’s End Of Green (that review will appear on this very site in a week or so. Oh, how you long for it), a anonymous band playing some mainstream bullshit. In the same package that was sent to me I got this album from Sweden’s own Psychopunch. That means 2 albums in one day that basically have very little to do at a site like Global Domination (then again, we have covered Milli Vanilli here) – the site widely known as the Mecca of Fucken Metal. But hey, labels send their shit and we are cool enough to review everything that get sent to us. That’s how we work shit. That’s how all sites should work their shit. But they don’t and that’s why we will always be a little bit better than everyone else.

While End Of Green is a completely dull experience, Psychopunch got some more fire in their rock and I take a (small) liking in what they have to offer on “The last goodbye”. My fellow countrymen sound sincere about their stuff, and much like with legends The Ramones there’s no way you can deny these fuckos got some insight in the field of creating material you (un)willingly nod yer head to. Is it my fave style of music? Hardly so, but I don’t mind it coming on the stereo. And Psychopunch is a cool moniker, perfect for this style of music. I am sure they came up with it by looking at one of Stephan “The American Psycho” Bonnar’s fights in the UFC. Booyah!

This is rock’n‘roll that’s bound to get the pre-party going before leaving for a night on town. And I am sure that’s exactly what they are aiming for.
